The
background of this picture is quite interesting: I drove 12 km to the west, for getting
the maximum brightness. My target was a suburb of Stuttgart. When I reached the place with
my car I could not find a way from the main road to the fields. The time of the flare came
closer and closer. From another road I finally found a way. Two minutes to go. Quickly I
set up the camera. I still had to do the focusing, which is always tricky. There the flare
came. Wow! I got it as you see. This was my first "big" one.
I was also lucky with the clouds: There was just a hole for the flare.
Still it was a bit hazy in the higher atmosphere, what caused this flare to appear really
"big".

The motion above appears
slower than in reality.
